Keeping sport and entertainment venues functioning smoothly
For heat transfer applications in the leisure & recreation industry we recommend:
Here's why...
Efficient fluid requirements
Ice rinks are commonly utilised all year around. The need to provide low-cost, consistently cool temperatures depends upon well designed cooling systems and efficient fluids. The Kilfrost Advanced Low Viscosity fluid range is ideal for this use. Under ice cooling with Kilfrost AIR will bring immediate energy efficiency savings on installation. Similarly, for cold storage warehouses with underfloor cooling pipe systems, costly damage can be caused to the warehouse floor due to the expansion of water turning to frost and ice, with the potential to burst the pipes. Kilfrost AIR is ideal for these applications due to its freeze protection in addition to its efficiency in cooling.

Kilfrost’s revolutionary heat transfer fluid technology provides compelling commercial solutions to long standing challenges that affect the leisure industry, whether that be on the cooling of ice rinks or more industrial uses such as cold storage warehouses.
Kilfrost AIR is the product of choice to support the leisure and recreation industry. The benefits include reducing system costs and enhancing the lifespan of equipment, as well as being classified as non-hazardous in accordance with CLP/REACH.
Reduce Cost
Kilfrost AIR is an engineered low viscosity fluid which outperforms MEG, MPG, Bio-PDO and ethanol-based heat transfer fluids. The graph below shows that as the temperature decreases Kilfrost AIR fluid remains low in viscosity.
How does this help you reduce costs?
As the temperature decreases other products become more viscous and “sluggish”. Kilfrost AIR fluid remains low in viscosity which means less pumping power is required to circulate the fluid around the system. Due to this hydraulic efficiency it will in turn reduce the energy usage for your pump, therefore reducing energy costs.
Maximum chilling
Kilfrost AIR heat transfer fluid offers cooling and chilling to temperatures as low as -40°C during the cooling process. The fluid will remain mobile even at these polar temperatures, allowing the system to continue to operate efficiently.
Asset protection and lifespan of equipment
Equipment breakdowns and required maintenance is a continuous job which can be difficult when cooling under ice. Also, costly damage can be caused to warehouse floors if a leak occurs in the system. Kilfrost AIR has been tested and exceeds the ASTM D1384-05 corrosion standard at 88°C providing outstanding protection for your equipment and pipework.
Why would you choose anything else other than Kilfrost AIR?
Now you have all the information you need to make an informed decision on which heat transfer fluid to use and why.
