But we’ve gone one step further, and have worked alongside the Ground Sourced Heat Pump Association to develop our innovative new Kilfrost GEO® fluid, which combines the ultimate in efficiency and environmental profile for the first time. Kilfrost GEO® outperforms MEG, MPG Bio-PDO and ethanol-based heat transfer fluids, protects against corrosion and scaling, and provides lower pumping costs and reduced system pressure drops. Best of all though, it’s formulated with a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved base fluid, has a superior environmental profile, and – thanks to its lower viscosity formulation – will also lead to long-term energy savings.

The heat transfer fluid in this excellent example of water sourced heat pump was Kilfrost GEO supplied to Elite Technical services, who were the prime contractor, by GoGeothermal, one of the UK leading renewables companies.
The reason GEO was chosen was due the fact that it is ecologically better than other fluids as well as being more hydraulically and thermally efficient than other fluids due to it’s low viscosity characteristics.
