THE achievements of ex-Royal Navy and Royal Marines who have been helped to set up successful business ventures has been celebrated at a ceremony in Portsmouth.
X-Forces Enterprise, an award-winning social initiative that supports the military community by enabling servicemen and women leaving the forces to bring their commercial ideas to life, brought together all those it has so far helped on the path to success at the Guildhall on Thursday (12 April).
The Naval Families Enterprise Project celebration event was supported by the Greenwich Hospital, A Crown Royal Navy Charity, which provides support to serving and retired Royal Navy and Royal Marines personnel, and sponsored by Kilfrost Ltd, whose Chief Executive, Gary Lydiate, joined X-Forces in 2017 as a Non-Executive Director following an early career in the Royal Navy.
Ren Kapur MBE, X-Forces Enterprise (XFE) CEO and Founder said: “This event celebrated all that X-Forces has done for these personnel and their families. They are better informed, have grown in confidence and have been able to grow a business learning from the experience of others.
“X-Forces Enterprise was set up in 2013 with a vision to extend business support to thousands of service personnel transitioning into civilian life, which can often prove challenging. To see this come to fruition at the event highlighted a real success story and I’m grateful we were able to hold this event with the support of Gary and Kilfrost.”
Around 40 guests were expected to attend the event, which saw new business owners, sole traders and other XFE beneficiaries recognised as the first official cohort to flourish as a result of the support.
During the event, Ren Kapur announced the next group of personnel to receive support from the organisation.
There was also the opportunity for important networking, for those looking for more information on what support can be accessed through X-Forces Enterprise.
Gary Lydiate said: “X-Forces enables and empowers all ex-service personnel to succeed and thrive in whatever business venture they choose and I’m delighted to be a part of celebrating that success.
“Given my early career in the Royal Navy, it was absolutely right that Kilfrost supports this event and I’m proud to be a sponsor.”
