As part of a continual commitment to innovation and raising industry standards, Kilfrost Ltd has appointed Michael Reynolds as Technical Manager.
Michael joins the third generation, family company from AkzoNobel where he was Technical Lead working as part of the Thermal Management team carrying out Performance Coatings research.
He brings with him a wealth of technical skills from physical and organic chemistry, biochemistry, and physics which has resulted in more than 20 published scientific papers, several presentations, and guest lectures at international conferences.
For three years, Michael was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble conducting research into high energy X-ray techniques for nanotechnology and soft condensed matter, following his PhD in Molecular, Structural and Physical Chemistry.
Kilfrost Chief Executive, Gary Lydiate, said: “We are delighted to welcome Michael to our laboratory team and look forward to working with him to further develop our industry-leading range of heat transfer and speciality fluids.
“As a company we are enormously proud of our reputation as pioneers, and we have invested heavily in research and development, considering not just the challenges faced by industry now but those to come, and developing the solutions to meet the needs of food manufacturing, beverage, HVAC, and green technology companies worldwide.”
Michael said: “I’m very passionate about science and technology, having worked in research for more than ten years in various functions. Being part of the Kilfrost team is a fantastic opportunity.
“Kilfrost has a reputation for being the industry leader in everything it does and that’s thanks to the excellent team of technical specialists here in the lab, the company’s commitment to research, development and innovation, as well as commitment to our customers. It’s an exciting time to be joining Kilfrost and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to apply myself here leading the development of innovative technologies and products for the speciality fluids division.”
Kilfrost is recognised as the global leader in safety critical frost protection chemistry and rheology. Working across the industrial and aviation sectors, Kilfrost maintains a proud focus on pioneering the next generation of products to raise industry standards, and to meet the growing needs of its commercial clients and the wider community.
This dedication to research and development and to challenging the status quo has seen a world-first from the Haltwhistle-based company – the launch of a whole new range of truly revolutionary, low viscosity heat transfer fluids.
For the first time ever, these fluids provide the food and drink manufacturing, heating ventilating and air conditioning, and green technology sectors across the globe an alternative to monoethylene glycol (MEG) and monopropylene glycol (MPG).
