EXPORT SUCCESS SECURES NATIONAL SHORTLIST

A North East company's exceptional export successes were recognised when it was shortlisted in two categories at the recent HSBC International Trade Awards.
Hosted at the House of Lords, the ceremony saw eleven finalists go head-to-head for just three national awards: the Small to Medium Sized Business Award, Excellence in Innovation and the Overall International Trade Company of the Year.
Kilfrost was shortlisted for both the Excellence in Innovation and Overall International Trade Company of the Year after enjoying the most successful year in the company's entire 75-year history. "2009 was an exciting and rewarding time for the business, and being presented with an award like this really is the icing on the cake†explained Kilfrost's Chief Executive, Gary Lydiate.
"These are the only UK awards to exclusively recognise the successes of those who trade overseas and we're extremely proud to have our efforts rewarded in this way. It really is testament to the dedication, passion and commitment of our team that we've managed to grow our export business by a huge 146% over the last three years, particularly in light of the global economic downturn†he added.
Kilfrost operates in more than 50 countries and five continents, supplying safety-critical de-icing and anti-icing fluids to major transport hubs across the global. As well as recent expansion in China and the opening of dedicated facilities in both the Americas and mainland Europe, the company has also launched a new division focusing solely on Functional Fluids.
